5 Golden Recipes to Maximise Curcumin Absorption

The secret to unlocking turmeric's full potential lies not just in its quality, but in how you consume it. Curcumin is fat-soluble and needs piperine (from black pepper) to be properly absorbed.

1. Classic Golden Milk Latte

Warm and soothing — perfect before bed to calm inflammation and ease a sore throat.

Coconut oil or ghee1/2 tsp

Combine all (except honey) in a saucepan. Heat gently, whisking, until warm and frothy — don't boil. Stir in honey and enjoy.

2. Turmeric Immunity Shot

A quick, potent antioxidant shot. Blend 1/2 tsp turmeric, juice of half a lemon, a thumb of ginger, a pinch of pepper, and a little honey in warm water. Drink first thing in the morning.

3. Turmeric & Honey Soothing Elixir

Stir 1/2 tsp turmeric and a pinch of pepper into a tablespoon of raw honey. Take a spoonful to soothe a scratchy throat — the honey carries the curcumin and adds its own antibacterial benefit.

4. Curcumin Power Paste

Simmer 1/4 cup turmeric with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 tsp ground pepper into a thick paste, stirring in a little coconut oil at the end. Keep refrigerated and add a spoonful to milk, curries or smoothies.
